A tennis bracelet is a flexible line of individually set stones. To choose one well, compare its fit, the size of each diamond and the way its links and clasp are made. Total carat weight is only one part of that decision.

Compare the diamonds and the whole bracelet

Carat per stone and total carat weight answer different questions. Forty diamonds at 0.10 ct each give 4.00 ct total; forty at 0.15 ct give 6.00 ct. These are arithmetic examples, not our product specifications. A longer bracelet may need more stones, so compare similar lengths when assessing price and appearance.

Look at the consistency of the stones and how their settings form a line. Photographs can help show the style, but ask for actual measurements and a view on the wrist. See GIA’s tennis bracelet buying guide for the role of diamond quality and construction.

Measure your wrist before choosing length

Lengths to compare during a fitting
Finished lengthMetric equivalentUseful check
6.5 inches16.5 cmCompare with wrist circumference and preferred movement
6.75 inches17.1 cmTry fastening and moving the wrist
7 inches17.8 cmCheck that it cannot slide over the hand

These examples are not standard sizes for everyone. The familiar one-finger check is only a starting point: the bracelet should feel comfortable without excessive movement or a risk of slipping off. Link thickness and the clasp can alter how the same stated length feels.

Inspect links, settings and the clasp

Prong settings hold stones with small metal claws; bezels surround their edges with metal. Either can work well when properly made. Neither construction is automatically snag-free or immune to wear.

Ask how to fasten the clasp and operate any safety catch. Check the closure before wearing, and stop wearing the bracelet if a link, catch or stone feels loose. Have a jeweller inspect it rather than bending parts back yourself. Remove it for activities that could pull or strike the settings.

Understand the specification shown when ordering

On our eligible bracelet pages, the specification summary shows the assigned metal tier and its weight guide. A metal-weight range in grams is different from diamond weight in carats, and is not a promise of the exact finished-piece weight.

For fixed tennis designs, the bracelet specification stays locked. Where a diamond-size option is offered, review the selected carat option and the stated total carat weight before ordering. Other bracelets may have fully predetermined stone groups. The controls on the individual product page define what can be changed.
